President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono confirms that the rumors of Century Bank funding his political team are completely false. It is defamation against him.
"I, with all my conscience and reasoning state, that the rumors of Century Bank funding my political team is completely false," he said during the National Teachers' Day 2009 and the 64th anniversary of the Indonesian Teachers' Association, Jakarta, Tuesday afternoon.
The president stated that there has never been any evidence of such accusations. "Please verify the truth of the rumors. Such rumors are outrageous slanders and must be settled so that justice is served."
According to the president, the people deserve transparent and true information regarding the Century Bank case. The president supports the process to clarify the case, which has been of great public interest.
"I'm concerned with the circulating false rumors. I consider them all slanders, and they are outrageous."
