Chief Minister Reports NGO To police For Defamation

Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto on Tuesday reported a non-governmental organization to the Jakarta Police for defamation.

"I will tell you later, after submitting my report," the chief security minister said before entering the public service center of the Jakarta Police headquarters on Tuesday.

On the occasion, Djoko Susanto was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Radjasa, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Andi Mallarangeng, the Democratic Party legislator Eddie Baskoro Yudhoyono, and lawyer Amir Syamsuddin.

Earlier, a number of journalists received information about a number of state officials who were going to report to police a defamation case in connection with allegations a non-governmental organization had made at a press conference on Monday about the flow of Bank Century funds.

In the meantime, Andi Mallarangeng confirmed he was reporting a certain non-governmental organization to the police.

The names of Djoko Suyanto, Hatta Radjasa, Andi Mallarangeng, Eddie Baskoro and a number of institutions and political parties were mentioned by the West Java - Jakarta Activists Network as the parties that had received Rp1.8 trillion in Bank Century funds.

The non-governmental organization also mentioned the names of the three brothers Andi Mallarangeng, Rizal Mallarangeng and Choel Mallarangeng as parties that had received Bank Century funds.
